Prepare your materials for printing and coating. Many films and plastics have chemically inert and nonporous surfaces with low surface tensions causing them to be non-receptive to bonding with printing inks, coatings, and adhesives.
Corona treatment can increase surface energy prior to printing, activate a surface prior to laminating, or clean a surface prior to coating.
Our corona treatment services are available for dyne level testing, lab trials, and production runs.
Once the material is treated, we can slit and/or sheet the rolls to custom sizes.
Contact us today and we will develop a custom surface treatment to meet your needs.
How Does Corona Treatment Work?
Corona treating increases the surface tension of most materials by inducing molecular changes in the surface of the film. By applying concentrated energy (an electrical discharge) to the surface being treated, oxygen molecules break down and bond to molecules in the material being treated, increasing the surface energy.
